Raising Awareness for Wildlife Conservation
Meridian Public School marked World Lion’s Day 2025 with a series of engaging activities aimed at educating students about lions, their habitats, and the importance of their conservation. The celebration focused on raising awareness about the critical threats faced by lions, including poaching, loss of habitat, and human-wildlife conflict.
The event began with an informative session where students learned about the role lions play in the ecosystem as apex predators. The session highlighted how lions help maintain balance in the wild by controlling the population of other animals, which ultimately affects the health of their habitats.
Students also participated in a variety of interactive activities, such as making lion-themed crafts and posters, as well as engaging in group discussions on the importance of wildlife conservation. These activities encouraged students to think about how they can contribute to protecting endangered species, not just lions but other wildlife as well.
Guest speakers, including wildlife experts and conservationists, were invited to share their experiences and insights about working in lion conservation. They discussed how education, awareness, and responsible tourism can play a vital role in ensuring the survival of these majestic creatures.
The day concluded with a pledge taken by the students to support wildlife conservation efforts. They vowed to protect nature and raise awareness in their communities about the importance of preserving endangered species like the lion.
